04/30/25 - Warren, MI a sleepy little suburb off 8 Mile near Detroit hosted not just President Trumps 100 Day celebration at the South Campus of Macomb Community College, but also thousands of concerned citizens lining the road showing the current administration exactly what they thought about the state of America’s government on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025. Although there were loads of media representation there from local stations to independent online news sources, many publications and mainstream media has still misrepresented the protest, crowd size, and true American Grit it took to plan the event safely for Michiganders across the state to BOO at Trump from a distance.

Lansing Guerilla Journalist, Jacki Krumnow of Now News was working behind the scenes with 50501 MI for the tight turn around of disseminating information as quickly as possible when news broke late on April 23rd, and she was informed the morning of April 24th. Krumnow attended the event from 3:45 until about 6 PM gathering content, interviewing individuals, and speaking to organizers, police officers, and every day citizens.

Krumnow was one of many who made the pilgrimage from all over the state to have the chance to be seen, heard, and boo at the current sitting president of the United States. Some followers traveling as far as three hours for the opportunity and to help grow the size of the crowd. Reports of crowd size are hard to completely compile as the entire parking lot of the event space had what one could describe as a picket line from one entrance to the other making a large J off the busy intersection of 12 Mile & Hayes Road. The distance from a entrance College Sign to the taped off parking entrance we are able to stand at spanned about half a mile.

picket line length and location of Trump 100 Day Celebration Protest

Map of Picket line length from when Krumnow walked it. Circle is the location where Trump Entered. First X is where the line ended around 5:00 while she was there. 2nd X is where her first post in the crowd went live. X by taco bell was where we had stationed our necessities with 50501 MI and portable bathrooms. X on the hook is where one Trumper was escorted away from the protest by local police officers.

While conversing with two of the local police officers, Krumnow was finally made aware of the snippers in the area, which was pretty wild to realize. But like of course they’d be there right? A single drone was also seen canvassing the area, but there was a strict, no drone coverage asked of the public, organizers, and press, so it did lead attendees to speculate if it was associated with the president’s team or local police. A water canon was spotted near the main intersection of Hayes and Mile 12, but was never once used. Krumnow herself did not spot it, but it was reported by another attendee afterwards. Although this protest has the largest police presence Krumnow has seen, it remained prominently peaceful.

Some college students are upset with the protesters, one going to far as to pop off in Krumnow’s Facebook reels about it, but we would like to remind readers, the organizers did everything in their ability to keep people informed and try to not take parking spaces around their classes. We understood that they were in finals week, but we didn’t plan for a protest that day, to specifically fuck with your lives… per say, you can thank big old Daddy Trump and your college for the disruption it caused on campus. People would have showed up to boo at that man, and ya’ll have probably had issues with just MAGA out there too, so really, just ask your professors for a pass on exams that day if they didn’t cancel classes. Don’t blame us. Blame trump and your academic affiliates running the damn place that thought he should host the rally there on exam week. We were very cognizant of this and tried our damnest. All the organizing groups did was… well I listed off all their great work below. Go read it.

Overall, the sentiment is still the same, as Krumnow has reported from other protests, albeit, a bit more pissed off. The people of Michigan we’re brutally honest with their signs, chants, and presence. They want to Dump Trump. The protest remained peaceful, and when Krumnow pulled out of the parking lot around 6:30 pm, after filming her final update of the “Live” reporting, about half the crowd was still there. Trump pulled in around 5:30 to his destination and took to the stage for 90 minutes from what NPR and other news sources claimed.

Sanders Coincidence?

Although Trump entered the campus a block away from the protesters off of Hayes and did not get to see us personally, thanks to his security detail, we hope that enough news coverage and social media trending can help reach his eyes. As less than 1,000 people showed up for his clear “campaign rally” only mere days after debuting his Trump 2028 hat on his son's head for all of social media to see, and directly after his approval ratings debuted (the lowest in recorded history), the crowd dissenting against his actions out numbered his supporters by either 3 to 1 or 5 to 1. Even though he specifically picked Macomb County, in red dot city, he still couldn’t even fill the auditorium. Mind you, Bernie Sanders was also in Warren, Michigan earlier this year, only a mere 10 minutes away at Lincoln High School, with multiple overflow rooms, and more than 10,000 individuals attending, even outside the venue, during his Fight Oligarchy Tour. With a shorter announcement and turn around time, gov. Sanders (and 2016 Primary Hopeful Presidential Candidate ) had 10xs the turn out than the sitting president back in March, 2025. In the same. city. mind. you. Odd of all the places he picked for his 100 Day Celebration, isn’t it?

Anti-Protesters

There were pockets of anti protesters, nothing too large. One group was maybe about 20-30 across the street at one point but eventually dispersed either to attend the rally or in defeat, waving pro-life anti abortion flags. A cyber truck with a giant TRUMP flag was seen in the parking lot. MAGAs that were seen sported their “apparel” of their supposed lord and savior, as they apparently still haven’t developed any bumps or ridges in their grey matter yet…Or drank too much bleach during Trumps first presidency in hopes it would save them from the VID. A few solitary cult members tried and failed to raise a few tempers, but the police force were quick to ask them to leave, and after a bit of shouting by the red caps, they would sadly walk away to the Charlie Brown song in retreat.

Planning the Protest

Multiple organizations came together to get the word out and try to execute a cohesive plan for the event on such short notice. Krumnow was working behind the scenes with 50501 MI on their discord server to remain as up to date as possible to let concerned citizens know where and when to send individuals as it was a developing story. She saw first hand how hard the team of volunteers pulled together to get signs, posters, portable bathrooms, water to combat the heat, canvasing, safety marshals, chanters, points of contact, communicating with local PD and businesses about the event. They are a large crew of concerned volunteers doing the back breaking hard work of researching, calling, canvasing, and pre-planning for a last minute protest that gather, what some claim were 5,000 individuals (a police officer once said 10,000 people, but let’s be real, we think he just wanted a feather in his cap).

Additional organizations participating in the organization of the event: Macomb Defenders Rising, Friends of Bernie Sanders, We the People Dissent, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Michigan United Action, North Macomb Democratic Club, 10th District Democratic Party.

If your interested in joining the fight and helping out, there are loads of different ways you can; and help be part of the change. Visit 50501 MI Linktree and follow the instructions on joining their discord server. It’s the best, and safest place to communicate on a mass level for future events and protests. Even if you can not attend them in person, they have individuals calling, doing work with just a laptop and phone to get things done.

Body Count and Demos

Although it seems impossible to get a proper head count, media, local police officers, multiple people attending, and organizers predict that somewhere between 3,000-5,000 individuals came out to Boo at Trump in Warren, Mi. Krumnow would predict based off of multiple sources and being on the ground, a decent estimation would be about 3,500-4,000.

The majority of the crowd seemed from largest to smallest, generationally: Millennials and Baby Boomers tied, Gen Xers close behind. Gen Z didn’t seem to have many out there, but they have been known to age a bit faster and could be considered Millennials, especially if wearing masks, as the younger generation usually do at these events to keep their identity safe and practice safe protesting protocols. Gen Alpha & Beta was out there with with their Millennial parents, and loads of well-behaved, good doggos were also on the scene.

The majority of the crowd did steer white, with pockets of minorities throughout the crowd.

Media Outlets

Krumnow saw the most media presence at this protest than any other. The news reported since though is still lack luster. Although she can not back link to any LIVE broadcasts that may had aired, she has found the following articles and you can find more (probably bias, sponsored content) if you google the protest. (I may be biased but at least I’m not paid for and protected by restrictions. PS if you like my work and want to support this journalism NOW NEWS work, I do it all for free, as you see no paid adverts here on my professional page, you can help support the cause by buying me a coffee, anonymously too if you’d like.)

Before mass listing the articles, I do want to give a particular shout out to Distill Social who passed Krumnow while filming her first “live” post of the day. A crew of at least 2 from their team were out there, and they always produce a biting edge of content delivering the truth, which we’ve always appreciated.
