Lantern Festival at John Ball Zoo | Grand Rapids, Mi
One of my favorite experiences last spring was traveling over to Grand Rapids for the beautiful Lantern Festival at the John Ball Zoo. I’ve been egging on Choose Lansing and Potter Park Zoo to get the exhibit here for Lastraunauts, with no luck yet. Perhaps if enough of us ask them, it’ll finally happen!
Additional Notes:
-They stagger entrances and sell out weekend tickets quickly, plan in advance to buy yours!
-There are vendors near the end of the park trail before you exit or see the gift shop. Consider supporting their unique hand made gifts that represent the festival!
-Parking can be a DISTANCE! If you need to park near the front for any reason, get there early.
-The earlier the ticket entrance the likelihood families and children will be there. Just a heads up, that if you’re a DINK looking for a good time, try going at the later entrance times.
- Charge up your phone and camera! You’ll want to take loads of photos and videos, see some of my favorites here.
-Take your time! There is no time limit for strolling the exhibit. it would probably lasts about 60-90 minutes, but has loads of off shoots.
- Make it a full evening out, and grab dinner at a fun local restaurant in Grand Rapids!
